Nightline offers to finance swine flu jabs for all staff
Parcel giant Nightline has offered to pay for a swine flu jab for all of its employees.
The Irish firm says it decided to offer some 200 logistics staff a free €30 (£25) vaccination, after one of its employees contracted the H1N1 virus last year.
John Tuohy, Nightline chief executive, adds that the nature of the business means staff often have a high volume of contact with members of the public, so "swine flu has been a regular topic of conversation".
He says almost half have declined the injection because they are yet to be convinced of its safety.
"We decided that, as a company that is as committed to its staff as they are to us, we would be doing the right thing in offering to immunise employees as soon as the vaccine was available from pharmacies," Tuohy comments.
The female employee affected by the virus has since recovered.
