Volvo used truck site opens at Hythe, Kent
It has been opened in 'cooperation' with Volvo Dealer MC Truck and Bus of Maidstone. Volvo Trucks' used trucks director Peter Groome, and it's worth noting at this juncture that he will be in a forthcoming edition of Commercial Motor, says that business levels are already brisk since it opened just after New Year.
"Enquiry levels are exceeding expectations and while we expect to attract customers from across the south-east, the Volvo Used Truck Centre also serves transport operators from east London looking to view quality Used Volvo stock," he says.
MD at MC Truck and Bus Simon Dawson agrees. "We're delighted to have opened the Volvo Used Truck Centre on the existing MC Truck and Bus site at Hythe. It extends our customer offer to include Used Trucks for the first time and provides customers access to quality vehicles from Volvo's Selected Used Truck programme," he adds.
Heading up sales on site is the used truck salesman Martin Hayes.

Crossgar Foodservice goes 'green' with MAN
Transport manager of Downpatrick-based Crossgar Foodservice Darren Hughes, says the company's environmental policy goes "hand-in-hand with MAN's EGR 'Add Nothing' engine technology".
"We looked at MAN's solution to Euro-4 and -5 and were very pleased to see it could provide a 'no AdBlue' solution," he says.
The MAN TGM 15.250BL 15-tonne rigids, with refrigerated bodies built by Lifford Coachworks, County Donegal, join 10 that arrived in the last 12 months. "These latest TGMs are performing well, and are regularly returning 12 and 13mpg," he adds.
Crossgar Foodservice has a 65-strong fleet and delivers fresh, frozen, ambient and 'non-food' products, and it is the sole all-Ireland distributor for UK foodservice company 3663.
