Eminox shows new exhausts and 'LEZ clinic'

Exhaust system manufacturer Eminox will launch a range of stainless steel replacement exhaust systems at the CV Show designed to work with EGR and SCR systems. There will be twin and single vertical stacks as well as under-slung systems.   There will also be a London Low Emission Zone clinic on its stand (no.2551), to help operators get to grips with the implications of the LEZ, due in 2008.

Walon launches van 'enhancement service'

Walon UK will make its debut at the CV Show launching a light CV enhancement service to dealerships, utility companies and fleet operators.It offers PDI, valet and registration, fitting internal and roof racking, bulkhead and beacon fitment, security equipment and internal power supply, and customer-specific decals.

Hino to show 20 trucks at the CV Show

Hino, looking to capitalise on its successful reintroduction into the British market, will have 25 trucks on display at the CV Show this week, with 20 bodied and liveried tippers on an outside display. Its main emphasis is on its EGR-equipped Euro-4 driveline.

Modul-System launches racking systems at CV Show

Racking company Modul-System will launch three new products at the CV Show this week (stand 4334): Future Concept, a secure mounting system minimising corrosion; Mobile Concept, a universal cart for moving tools, machinery and materials, with a electronic lift; and Safety Programme, a coated screw to improve the surface area between van and fitted racking system.

Volvo to show 540hp version of FH16

Volvo Trucks will display its recently-launched 540hp version of the FH16 at the CV Show this week. It will be complemented by new FL and FE products, which were launched last summer. The FH16-540 will be a 4x2 with the Globetrotter XL decked out in Prestige trim featuring leather upholstery, heated and vented seats and climate control.

CAT North American On-Highway Business Plunges 53 Per Cent.

This is rather bad.CAT's on-highway engine business has had its bed pushed even nearer the door with the announcement that its Q1 2007 figures - which otherwise look pretty good - have taken a kicking from the North American truck business.Engine sales were down 53 per cent - at the start of the downturn - whilst revenue dropped by $114 million - or nine per cent.

Confirmation here that the Russian government is to sell its shares in KamAZ during Q3 2008.

MB Trucks at Auto Shangahi 2007

DaimlerChrysler's Truck Group is showing four heavy-duty trucks at at Auto Shanghai 2007. Three versions of the Actros are on view, including a tractor unit, recovery vehicle and a concrete pump chassis. Also on display is an Axor tractor unit, which is being pitched to the Chinese as a "more economical solution for construction and utility usage".Mercedes-Benz currently leads the Chinese market in terms of vehicles imported from Western Europe, boasting 44 per cent market share.

Freightliner Unveils Coronado to South African Market.

Diesel thieves hit truck dealer

Nearly 20 trucks were drained of diesel in a fuel-syphoning raid on a Shropshire CV dealer last week. The gang broke into the premises of West Pennine Trucks, on the Mile Oak Industrial Estate in Oswestry. They were disturbed and fled the scene, but not before they had taken fuel from 17 vehicles. Manager Darren Counsell says the company's site is fully fenced and is covered by CCTV. "It's hard to see what more we can do but we think this was a gang that has been operating in the area for a while, so hopefully the police will catch someone soon," he adds.
