S&J Haulage opts for Tiger's lightweight trailers

Leicestershire-based S&J Haulage has expanded its fleet with the delivery of 15 lightweight tri-axle curtainsiders from Tiger Trailers. The trailers were developed in conjunction with Tata Steel and were built at the company’s state-of-the-art £22m factory in Cheshire. 

Mercedes Work Ready covers new and Approved Used chassis

Mercedes-Benz has launched an off-the-shelf offering for its trucks to allow customers to get vehicles in a hurry. The WorkReady programme covers both rigid and tractor units and covers both new and Approved Used chassis. Trucks are available to customers “at very short notice” and can be put to work in some cases within days.

New Volvo FMX Tipper mucks in at RK Bell

RK Bell of Bridgewater, Somerset, has taken delivery of a new Volvo FMX tipper from local dealer Truck and Bus Wales & West. The 8x4 truck has been fitted with a Boweld tipper body and will be used for a variety of jobs from muck shifting to rental.

A skip hire company owner who was conned by a rogue waste haulier has been hit with a £25,000 bill after his rubbish was fly-tipped at four sites in Essex. Robert Walker, of Bob’s Skips in Basildon, failed to check the legitimacy of a haulier who cold called his premises looking for a backload.
