Fruehauf is midway through delivering a 36-strong trailer order on the short journey down the A1 from its Grantham factory. The customer is Openfield Agriculture, whose headquarters are at nearby Colsterworth, which is engaged in a significant fleet expansion.
The order for Fruehauf’s 72m3 sloper smoothsider tipping trailers, which are being delivered in a rolling programme which started in late 2022 and will run through to July, and is the latest chapter in a 20-year history of supplied the co-operatives trailer needs. They are equipped with Dawbarn Hydroclear electric sheets, reverse and loading cameras, and onboard wi-fi enabled PM 1155 weighing systems, and are destined to cover 100,000km per annum, delivering grain from depots around England and Wales for the manufacture of many of our best known food and drink brands.
Openfield’s head of fleet, Keith Hughes said: “The quality of Fruehauf trailers is excellent. That’s why we have such a long and fruitful relationship with the company. And now it’s under the ownership of MV Commercial, we have even more trust in Fruehauf’s ability to manufacture and deliver trailers to meet all our requirements.
“The new tippers are part of our fleet expansion and replacement programme as we grow the business in 2023 and they serve our business perfectly. They are versatile and can easily accommodate different types of load.”
