December 7, 2016

My favourite holiday destination is…
The French Alps.

I drive an…
Audi A4

My hobbies are…
Cycling. Mainly road cycling though I have taken part in four Transaid cycle challengers in Africa and am due to take part in Cycle South Africa in March 2017 with CM editor Will Shiers.

I got into the industry…
Following the completion of a mechanical engineering degree. I then started with Michelin in the Leeds sales office before moving into various commercial roles then becoming a technical manager.

To encourage more young people into the industry we should…
Develop apprenticeships - they are probably the best way into the industry, as long as they are well structured with decent employment prospects.

The outlook for our sector of the market over the next 12 months is…
That there are many external factors that will affect the tyre industry in the next year which makes it tricky to forecast. If there is a post-Brexit slowdown in the economy we will see fewer trucks on the road and a decreasing tyre market.
