JMD Haulage, based in Liverpool, has taken delivery of eight new Mercedes-Benz Actros 2545 tractors. The trucks were supplied by Asset Alliance on a four-year full-service contract hire deal.

All the vehicles have GigaSpace cabs and four have had additional modifications enabling them to haul explosives - a requirement for some demolition, mining and military contracts.

They will mainly be used to haul containers to and from Liverpool docks, with occasional runs to Felixstowe, Southampton and Tilbury.

The trucks, which are expected to clock up 120,000km a year, join a fleet of 62 trucks, which includes Daf, MAN and Mercedes-Benz tractors.
