Food and drink distributor AF Blakemore & Son has taken delivery of a range of new Scania P series rigids for its operations in and around London.
Chosen for its city-friendly cab, Blakemore’s new P cabs have a three-star rating under the Direct Vision Standard which comes into force in March.
In preparation for the Direct Vision Standard coming in to force for all vehicles over 12-tonnes, the family-owned retailer which owns 276 SPAR stores, has taken delivery of five P410 4x2 tractor units, as well as 11 P250 4x2 rigids with Gray and Adams refrigerated bodies along with a P320 6x2 refrigerated rigid.
“The new Scania P-cab vehicles are perfect for the company’s operation, which is mainly within towns and cities, giving us the visibility we need,” said Dave Higgs, logistics compliance manager at AF Blakemore.
The vehicles have all been supplied by independent Scania dealer Keltruck, who also fitted a Spillard Safety Systems 360-degree camera system to the trucks.
“Support from Keltruck keeps our vehicles compliant and serviced, giving peace of mind,” Higgs added.
