How many ways are there to destroy a caravan? To enjoy finding out the answer, make sure you attend Convoy in the Park at Donington, Leicestershire, on 22-23 July, for what promises to be the UK’s most exciting truck show ever.

But there’s more to (Commercialmotor.com sister title) Truck & Driver’s very own truck show than just smashing up wobble boxes.

This event, which is being billed as the ultimate celebration of the truck and driver, has numerous elements designed to keep you and the family thrilled and enthralled all weekend.

Let’s start off on the track, where spectators will be treated to a weekend of truck racing (last year’s British Truck Racing Championship race at the circuit, pictured above).

You can never get bored with watching 1,000hp 5-tonne trucks thundering around Donington at speeds of up to 100mph.

You’ll be treated to 10 races over the course of the weekend as the drivers compete for a round of the BTRC. Don’t be surprised if the event also attracts plenty of international drivers.

But that’s not all. It has been confirmed that Convoy in the Park will also premier a new one-make truck formula. This exciting new division, which will see drivers competing in identical trucks, will be unveiled at Donington ahead of the 2017 season. It promises to be the ultimate test of truck racing skill.

Expect plenty more to take place on the track too, such as truck sprints, drifting – and at least a couple of surprises.

All show trucks will be invited onto the track on Sunday afternoon to do a lap and take part in a convoy of their own.

But it’s the off-track activities that will put Convoy in the Park in a league of its own.

In addition to an extensive trade show, which will be supported by the truck manufacturers, there will be countless fun activities to spectate or even participate in.

Reckon you have a good appetite? Then why not sign up for one of our eating competitions? Or if you fancy yourself as the next Ed Sheeran, you will want to entertain the crowds from our karaoke truck.

There will be a ride and drive too, and a chance to compete in a challenging reversing competition in front of hundreds of spectators... so no pressure!

You can have a go at our charity haulage wars game, or if you’re feeling energetic, enter our truck-pull competition. Over the weekend teams of hauliers will be competing to determine which is the strongest.

Convoy in the Park promises to have a real festival atmosphere, and with that in mind the central stage will be a hive of activity.

Throughout the course of the weekend you’ll be treated to a fantastic line-up of bands, including UK-based Americana group Mashville, high-octane blues-infested punkabilly group Knocksville (right), the ultimate Guns N’ Roses tribute band Guns or Roses, and a tribute to the late great ‘man in black’, Johnny Cash.

And when the sun goes down, there’s no need to hurry home. We will have an open-air cinema, where you will be able to watch Sam Peckinpah’s classic trucking movie Convoy.

All of this is included in the price of a one-day ticket, which, if you book in advance, will set you back just £15 (or £25 for a weekend pass).

What’s more, under-14s get in for free. Not only does Convoy in the Park promise to be the UK’s ultimate truck show, but it represents fantastic value too. Come on and join our convoy!
