Five new refrigerated DAF LF rigids have recently begun work at food and catering supplies wholesaler, T Quality.

Supplied on a seven-year contract hire deal by Fraikin, the three day-cabbed 7.5-tonners, one day-cabbed 15-tonner and one sleeper-cabbed 15-tonner all have insulated Solomon bodies with a curtain-sided section and a temperature controlled freezer unit, maintained by Carrier Transicold Supra refrigeration equipment.

The new trucks, which join a total fleet of over 100, will be used to deliver chilled and frozen products to fish and chip shops, fast-food outlets and wholesale fish markets from T Quality’s sites in Birmingham, Darlington, Peterborough and Swindon. They are expected to clock up around 40,000 miles a year and will work alongside 11 other identical vehicles that Fraikin delivered to T Quality in 2018.

Graham Kay, national logistics and safety manager at the food wholesaler, said Fraikin’s ability to provide national backup was a critical factor in his choice.

“We deliver to more than 5,500 customers across the UK every week, so having access to national maintenance support is vital,” he stated. “Being able to call on Fraikin’s technicians across the country means any potential issues can be quickly resolved, ensuring that we continue to deliver top quality results as a business.”
