DAF’s New Generation XF, XG and XG+ range has been crowned International Truck of the Year (IToY) 2022. The prestigious trophy was awarded at the Solutrans Exhibition in Lyon, France tonight (17 November).
Summing up the jury vote, IToY chairman Gianenrico Griffini commented: “With the introduction of the New Generation, DAF has delivered a high-tech heavy-duty truck
range that sets a new benchmark in the truck industry. In addition, it is future-oriented, as it also represents a complete platform for new generations of alternative drivelines”.
“DAF’s New Generation trucks are worthy winners,” added UK IToY judge and Commercial Motor editor Will Shiers. “By taking advantage of the EUs new masses and dimensions regulations, DAF has created an entirely new vehicle segment.”
In a double celebration for the Dutch truck maker, the DAF XF Hydrogen prototype was awarded the Truck Innovation Award 2022 title. You can read about both of these award winning trucks in this issue.
