Of the DAF apprenticeship [Blowers began as an apprentice at South West dealer Wessex DAF and has also worked in technical help desk and telematics platform roles]. Learning, earning and gaining work experience was more appealing than sitting in a classroom, wasting time on subjects just to fill time.

To encourage more young people into the industry we should…
Explain the value of apprenticeships to secondary school students and showcase the technology and potential earnings.

The outlook for our sector of the market over the next 12 months is…
Due to the driver shortage, operators have fewer resources to take vehicles to and from dealerships for normal repairs. Call-out volumes will continue to increase as they have no choice but to contact a breakdown service.

DAF is different from the competition because…
Of the great back-up available. Everyone has problems, but it’s about how you handle them. It’s about taking ownership and working together as a team. DAFaid is one of its greatest assets.
