Dale Brothers has taken delivery of ten new Schmitz Cargobull fridge units after winning a new contract to transport lamb to markets in France. Three of the trailers have been specified with meat hanging systems , while the four are multi-temperature and the others are mono-temperature trailers. The units have also all been equipped with Schmitz Cargobull’s TrailerConnect telematics to provide complete visibility when delivering chilled and frozen food produce to its customers.

Neyland Dale, director at Dale Brothers, said: “We’ve sourced most of our fleet from Schmitz Cargobull because the trailers are very robust with maximum uptime. Their suitability for our work makes them the stand-out choice, and the team provided us with the ideal trailers quicker than any other manufacturer.”

Each of the trailers has also been fitted with additional bumper protection under the rear doors to better protect the unit when reversing into loading bays, while the TrailerConnect system will ensure that not only has the load remained at its desired temperature throughout its journey, but that the fridge unit itself is in good condition too.

“TrailerConnect gives us the complete picture, so we can monitor an entire trailer from the fridge unit right down to the axles and tyres. No other manufacturer has been able to give us this much information before. Being able to make decisions through a phone app makes the process very easy to manage,” added Dale.
