Dawsongroup truck and trailer renews Rowlinson Packaging’s fleet

Rowlinson Packaging has renewed its entire fleet, having ordered six new DAF CF 480 tractor units and 10 Lawrence David 4.7m EN12642 XL trailers.

The trucks and trailers will all be supplied by Dawsongroup truck and trailer’s Stoke branch, on five-year contract hire packages. In addition to all scheduled and non-scheduled servicing, repairs, inspections and maintenance, this includes tax, 24/7 national roadside assistance and breakdown recovery, MoT preparation and submission, and maintenance and recording of all documentation to meet O-licence requirements. 

The six tractors and first seven trailers feature the timber packaging company’s new blue and white livery, while the additional three trailers, which will be added to the fleet in early 2023, will be finished in a product-specific variation of the new livery.

“We have a process of continuous improvement and monitoring across the business, and, as part of our ongoing H&S commitments, we identified that the company needed a new fleet,” said Jim Morgan, who manages Rowlinson Packaging’s overall H&S and fleet compliance. “Dawsongroup had supplied vehicles for the previous five years, but we undertook a very thorough sweep of the market to find best value. That doesn’t necessarily mean the lowest price of course, but Dawsongroup were very competitive, and given the strong service levels from them and their local service agents in the past, we were happy to commit for a further five years.

“On top of having a modern fleet, our new livery has made a great impression on customers and potential customers alike, and we are finding new business benefitting as a direct result of the impact both are having. People underestimate the presence of their fleet at their peril.”
