Den Hartogh Logistics has put more than 50 Volvo FH 4x2 Lite tractor units out of an order of 100 trucks on the road.

The Volvos are running out of the company’s depots in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

To maximise payload and reduce fuel costs the haulier opted for the Lite tractor units with 460hp engines.

“The higher engine power resulted in less gear changing and a higher cruising speed, giving us a reduction in fuel costs,” said Den Hartogh Logistics equipment manager Erik Groen.

Den Hartogh Logistics specialises in bulk logistics for the chemical, gas, polymer and dry bulk food industry.
