Essex-based food ingredients producer Edme has acquired two new EN-XL trailers from Lawrence David.

The 13.7M long straight frame, tri-axle trailers are TUV EN XL certified, the highest rated load containment certification available.

They include Lawrence David Armoursheet-XL load bearing curtains and rear metal doors. The new trailers, which will join a fleet of seven trailers and five vehicles, will be used throughout the Edme distribution network, transporting food ingredients across the UK and Europe.

Edme has also bought two brand new Mercedes-Benz Actros tractor units, which were supplied by East Anglia-based supplier Orwell Truck and Van.

Lynne Smith, transport manager at Edme said: “Each year we move over twenty thousand tonnes of product, so our fleet is of the utmost importance.”
