Frozen and fresh food delivery specialist Euro Foods has added 14 new Ivecos to its 52-vehicle fleet.

The order, placed with Caerphilly-based dealer Glenside Commercials, comprises 11 7.2-tonne Daily chassis cabs and three 12-tonne Eurocargos.

The Daily vans feature Solomon bodywork, three of which are new and the other eight have been transferred from de-fleeted competitor vehicles to give them a second life. They offer payloads of 3,260kg or 3,345kg, depending on whether they are fitted with new or swapped bodies.

Meanwhile the 12-tonners, which have 5.5-tonne payloads, have been specified with Gray & Adams temperature-controlled box bodies.

Group transport manager Neill Cannell said: “We had a 7-tonne Daily demonstrator on test from Glenside two years ago and the driver feedback was very positive. Levels of comfort and performance were very favourable compared with our outgoing Japanese trucks. Drivers liked the manoeuvrability and high level of specification and most importantly it gave us an impressive payload which is vital across the fleet.

“We chose Eurocargo as it is a durable machine. We like the fact that it’s not a complicated truck, but is a real workhorse.”

Supplied on two-year R&M contracts, they will remain on the fleet for between five and seven years.
