
Fiat has confirmed pricing and specification for the Fiat E-Ducato, its first 100% electric commercial vehicle.
Available with a choice of two battery sizes - 47kWh or 79kW – it will have a range of either 99 miles or 192 miles according to WTLP tests for city driving. Power comes from a 90kW motor producing 280Nm of torque, with the van’s top speed limited to just 62mph. Charging is possible from either a 22kW or 50kW supply, enabling a full charge to be completed in under 2.5 hours for the smaller battery or 4 hours for the larger unit.
Available as a 3.5-tonne or 4.25-tonne van, the E-Ducato also comes as a minibus or chassis cab. Payload for a 3.5-tonne van ranges from 690kg to 1,160kg while a 4.25-tone GVW model is capable of transporting up to 1,885kg. Load volumes remain the same as the diesel powered variants with 10cu m to 17cu m possible. as the Fiat E-Ducato dimensions are the same as the diesel model.
The E-Ducato will be available in two trim levels - standard and eTecnico with a 5-inch touchscreen fitted as standard along with automatic climate control, electric heated mirrors, lane departure warning system, and Traffic Sign Recognition also part of the equipment.
eTecnico vans get a larger 7-inch touchscreen which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes navigation, rear parking camera with reverse parking sensors, as well as blind spot and rear cross path detection.
A choice of two heights, and three lengths on three different wheelbases will be possible for the vans, while the chassis cab gets three lengths on four wheelbases. Passenger versions can seat between five and nine passengers, and every configuration is available with the choice of either the 47kWh or 79kWh battery packs.
Prices start from £47,675 excluding VAT but including the government plug-in van grant.
