Mercedes-Benz is hoping to improve truck drivers’ health with the launch of an in-cab exercise kit.
According to the truck maker, the average European truck driver has 25 sick days per annum, which is significantly more than office workers. “Office workers are able to go to the gym after work, but truck drivers can’t,” a spokesman said.
The kit, which consists of regeneration balls and elastic tension bands, is complemented by access to a training video. In total there are 33 exercises, all designed to massage, increase blood flow and improve drivers’ wellbeing.
It goes on sale in the fourth quarter at a cost of €70.
