Giti Tire has launched a 17.5in version of its GTR955 Combi Road tyre, having previously limited it to larger 22.5in wheels.
It is now available in 215/75R17.5 and will be followed by 235/75R17.5 and 245/70R17.5 variants in quarter four.
The tyre is designed for regional and long-haul vehicles and has the Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake (3PMSF) symbol for countries that operate winter tyre regulations.
It is said to be superior to its predecessors in terms of wear – by 30% according to the company’s test results – and footprint, courtesy of an enhanced profile, advanced belt construction and a new tread compound.
“For the very first time, Giti Tire’s latest Combi Road structures and high-tech materials are now embedded in a small 17.5in sizes, answering demand from customers to bring the latest technology into the smaller operations rims,” said TBR sales and marketing director Tony McHugh.
“Wide tread width, in combination with extra robust shoulders geometry, provides an even tread pressure distribution, low abrasion rate and extended mileage. Those characteristics make the tyre a superior premium level product for both long and short haul operations”.
