Ferryspeed has taken delivery of 10 new 13.6m Gray and Adams trailers, each with Carrier Transicold Vector 1950 multi-temperature (MT) refrigeration units.

The Portsmouth-based firm has specified each of the new refrigeration units with a full-service, repair and maintenance package that includes annual temperature control testing and certification, full regulatory checks, and access to Carrier Transicold’s 24/7 incident management service.

Carrier Transicold Southern - an independent company that provides support to operators using the manufacturer’s equipment - will carry out all routine maintenance work.

Palletways member Ferryspeed, which runs a commercial vehicle fleet of 75 vehicles and 400 trailers, specialises in the storage and next-day delivery of ambient and temperature-controlled freight including food, beverage and pharmaceutical products between the UK, Jersey and Guernsey.

Ferryspeed general manager Robin Sykes said: “We have decades of experience serving this unique part of the UK, and we know precisely what demands it places on the fleet and the equipment we specify. We opted for Carrier’s most powerful multi-temperature trailer units to give us maximum flexibility and to ensure we can offer our customers precise cold chain control.

“We’re very fortunate that network service partner, Carrier Transicold Southern, operates from the same commercial site as we do, so we have all the aftersales support we could need right on our doorstep.

"Having the reassurance of knowing our units are being maintained by manufacturer-trained technicians, makes complete business sense.”
