The H2Accelerate collaboration has secured funding for 150 hydrogen trucks and eight heavy-duty hydrogen refuelling stations.

The eight heavy-duty hydrogen refuelling stations will be built under the Connecting Europe Facility while its 150 fuel cell truck project is funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership with both of these projects enabling trucks and refuelling equipment to be tested under real-world conditions. The idea of the collaboration is that it will help prepare for the mass commercialisation of the hydrogen technology.

The H2Accelerate project is a collaboration between Daimler Truck, Volvo Group, and Iveco Group as well as a number of institutions from Finland, Romania, Italy, Austria, France and Norway with support from Shell, TotalEnergies, and Everfuel.

The project will be coordinated by SINTEF, Norway’s leading research institute on hydrogen technologies.
