Hatcher Components is now offering a long-distance twin bunk option for the Volvo FL.

As part of its Super Class Sky Cab range, the conversion specialist will extend the truck’s day cab by 700mm to provide an extra 250mm of interior cab depth compared with the comfort cab.

The conversion also increases roof height to 3500mm to create the space for the second bunk, and boost headroom.

The result is two bunks that remain in the down position yet, Hatcher claimed, provide room for drivers to move freely around the cab, including those that are 6ft plus tall.

Hatcher’s Craig Poacher said: “Operators are increasingly looking to optimise the versatility of their fleets. The interior is roomy enough for two, and importantly has the storage capacity.

"It makes the Volvo FL a real contender in the long haul market.”
