HH and DE Drew buys six Iveco Eurocargos due to strong urban performance

Strong performance in an urban environment fuelled aggregate and concrete supplier HH and DE Drew, which trades as New Milton Sand and Ballast, to buy six new Iveco Eurocargo rigids.

Two of the vehicles - an 18-tonne rigid with a Hiab Multiloader skiploader body and 12-tonne model fitted with a Thompson tipper - are already on the road.

They are working for the group’s SMS Skip business and small load delivery business, Steve Perrins Supplies respectively.

Another 12-tonne tipper, a 15-tonne skiploader and two 18-tonners with Hymix mixers, will be delivered in the coming months.

New Milton Sand and Ballast’s general manager of waste resources, Darren Hazell, said: “One of our key reasons for selecting the Eurocargo is its tight turning circle. We often have to deliver in confined urban environments, with tight streets and tricky corners, and the Eurocargo’s manoeuvrability is excellent.

“Payload capacity is also very competitive compared with other vehicles on the market, and the Eurocargo chassis provides the perfect platform for the different body types we require.”

He added that the feedback for the two vehicles already on the road had been “overwhelmingly positive”.

The new vehicles are being supplied by Eastleigh-based Iveco dealership Hendy Van and Truck.
