Breakdown recovery and transport specialist CMG said introducing fleet management software from TruTac has helped it reduce its driver infringements and improved overall fleet compliance.

CMG, which operates more than 75 tracked recovery assistance vehicles, needed a management tool which would enable it to monitor and store driver activity online and to provide a simple-to-use audit trail for compliance records.

The company had been using an off the shelf package but introduced TruAnalysis, the web-based digital and analogue tachograph analysis reporting system with KPI reporting for multiple depots, drivers and vehicles.

Transport Manager at CMG Rowan Harris said with the new system, reports can be automatically emailed to any manager or multiple users across the fleet. He added: “It was easy to install, it’s simple to use and above all, it’s secure.

“Not only are we now seeing a reduction in driver infringements but there is also a noticeable decrease in administration - factors which combine to give us a more efficient and compliant operation.

“Overall, we have brought infringements down and compliance up. The back-up from TruTac is faultless and they are always looking for the next innovative solution - for example, remote download linked to our own PMI system - a bespoke bolt-on which will give us additional fleet control.”
