Shropshire-based J&R Millington has been appointed as the official UK dealer for Tatra’s Phoenix range of mostly all-wheel drive rigids and tractor units.
The Tatras, built in the Czech Republic, feature DAF cabs, including right-hand drive, and a full range of Euro-6 Paccar MX11 and MX13 engines from 360 to 530hp.
These driver through ZF manual or TraXon automated transmissions or Allison automatics.
A range of tyres from highway to extreme off-road can be specified.
Despite the tough appearance, the weight of a standard day-cab 6x6 chassis is a competitive 9,800kg.
J&R Millington currently has a 6x6 three-way tipper as a demonstrator, with an 8x8 hook loader with four steering axles on the way.
Director Joe Millington says “we see the target markets as agriculture, forestry, construction and utilities”.
