Milk & More has ordered 159 zero-emission LDV EV80 vans which, once delivered, will bring the company’s electric vehicle fleet to a total of 500 EVs by the end of September.

Marc Ling, Milk and More’s development manager, said:“In May 2018, we introduced 200 zero emission electric StreetScooter milk floats, which have a range of up to 75 miles and travel 4 million miles a year, saving 1million litres of diesel a year. This year, we are continuing to expand our electric fleet with the addition of 159 electric LDV vehicles.”

The EV80 has a 120-mile range on one charge and can be fully charged in less than 90 minutes. The van was the first electric vehicle launched as part of Heathrow LDV’s commercial vehicle range.

Andrew Kendall, deputy chief executive of Milk & More, said: “Our new LDV electric vehicles represent our commitment to transforming the great British milkman into a modern, convenient delivery service which has a sustainable, environmentally friendly proposition at its heart.”

Due to being fully-electric, the new units can operate within London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), and will ensure that Milk & More reduces noise during early-morning deliveries.

“We are only partway through a much wider plan to reduce our carbon emissions. We will continue to invest in our fleet, so that one day our fleet will be 100% electric”, concluded Ling.
