Metals stockholder and processor Metalweb is refreshing its entire fleet with 10 new DAF box trucks.
Supplied by Ryder, the vehicles include five CF230 18-tonne, 8.5-metre body length box trucks, three LF180 12-tonne, 7.3-metre body length box trucks, both with a 4x2 axle configuration, plus two CF330 26-tonne box trucks, with 9.1-metre body length and 6x2 axle configuration.
The box trucks, which replace Metalweb’s entire fleet on a like-for-like basis, are being provided through a supply and full service six-year lease contract.
Metalweb, which has its headquarters in Birmingham, is a stockist and first stage processor of metals. The company delivers around 10,000 tonnes of material a year to around 1,000 UK customers.
Karl Weston, Metalweb MD, said: “The requirements to cut, pack, and deliver on time are high in a demanding market place where customer service is key, so it is important for Metalweb’s operations to have a transport fleet it can rely on.”
John Murray, Ryder sales and marketing director, said: “We spent two years consulting with Metalweb on their bespoke requirements, involving all parts of their business, before deciding on the vehicle specifications.
"The robust bodies with reinforced headboards were specifically chosen to suit the metal products that Metalweb supplies, and also adhere to the company’s strict health and safety protocols”
