Michelin has launched a new free-to-use app to help tyre dealers and fleets access the latest technical information.

The app covers Michelin truck and trailer tyres, as well as bus, coach and selected van fitments and can be access via an iOS or Android smartphone. , on their smartphones, wherever they’re working.

Michelin MyTechXpert is said to be an evolution of the well-known Michelin technical data book which has been used by fitters for decades.

Launching the new app, Steve Chadwick, brand manager B2B for Michelin Tyre said: “This has been a long-term project, driven by customer demand. We wanted this to be more than just an electronic copy of the previous data book, so from the outset the app had to add real value for customers. One huge advantage is that it will always be up-to-date – there’s no more waiting for next year’s book to come out to get the latest info.

Information within the app includes full technical data on more than 200 Michelin commercial vehicle tyres covering the smallest size, a 6 R9 Michelin XTA trailer tyre, to the largest, a 525/65 R20.5 Michelin XS.

Information includes detailed sizing, inflation pressure suggestions, EU tyre labelling data, and any applicable regrooving information.

“We’ve packed Michelin MyTechXpert with hundreds of high-quality reference images which allows users to zoom in and study particular details – incredibly useful when you’re trying to match examples of damage or irregular wear against our extensive database of images,” added Chadwick.
