The SAIC-owned MAXUS range of full electric vans has been expanded with the addition of the Maxus eDELIVER 9. A larger sibling to the existing Maxus eDELIVER 3, the new van is available in medium- and long-wheelbase versions, providing 9.7cu m and 11.0cu m of load space respectively, placing it in the same territory as the likes of the Ford Transit. With a GVW rated at 3,500kg, and an option of 4,050kg, the van claims a payload up 1,700kg.

Its motor is rated at 70kW, with a peak output of 150kW, and 350Nm. Three battery options, 51.5kWh, 72.0kWh and 88.6kWh are offered, claiming a range of up to 219 miles. Fast DC charging, providing 80% of capacity in 45 minutes, and five-hour AC mode, are available.

A range of variants including crew cab, chassis and minibus models are available, together with a variety of specialist conversions. With the government electric vehicle grant, eDELIVER 9 prices start from £55,000 (ex-VAT), and it’s available to order now with short delivery times.

MAXUS, and its sister LDV brand are distributed in all UK and European right-hand drive markets by the Dublin-based Harris Group. Sales of the LDV V80 and EV80, which pre-date the June 2020 rebranding to MAXUS, continue in parallel, albeit with some differences in their technology.

Mark Barrett, general manager of Harris Maxus, said “Despite its challenges, 2020 has represented a new era for MAXUS in which we can offer our customers even more variety in terms of zero emission commercial vehicles. The eDELIVER 9, as the bigger more powerful of our EVs, is the big brother to the eDELIVER 3, so our MAXUS family is expanding at pace with a chassis variant to arrive in Q2 2021. Other models likely to fill the gaps in the range include a Maxus eDeliver 5 and Maxus eDeliver 7, as well as a Maxus T90EV pick-up truck.

“The eDELIVER 9, a complete new platform, perfectly illustrates MAXUS’ focus on diversification, customisation and reputation. Everything about this van is of superior quality and showcases what we at MAXUS are all about. We want to make choosing an electric vehicle as easy as possible for customers, whether they are shopping for one vehicle or an entire fleet for their business. The eDELIVER 9 has it all in terms of spec, space and is 100% electric.”
