Scania has revealed details of its brand new Scania G Series truck.

Following on from the new Scania R and new Scania S trucks, the new G Series gets a similar exterior makeover to improve aerodynamics, internal space and visibility.

Available as a low, normal and high roof truck, the Scania G will initially be available as a sleeper cab. With a new lower seating position that is also further forward, the new G-Series not only has a larger sleeping area, it is also more suited to urban and multi-drop distribution operations.

The G Series will also be powered by a revised range of Scania engines.

Internal ceiling height has been increased by 10cm, while in the G Series Highline trucks there is now an additional 16cm of headspace over the previous Scania G-series. That means that the storage has been significantly improved, in both the front and back compartments of the cab.

Other changes to the interior include the addition of a special tablet holder that can be mounted on the instrument panel, a new larger sunroof, and bigger door pockets that can now fit a 1.5-litre bottle.

There is also a new Scania Night Lock system that increases cab security through a mechanically-operated bar making it more difficult for an intruder to open the cab while the driver is resting.
