The chemical specialist, WM Cyril McGuinness has taken delivery of three new Schmitz Cargobull curtainsiders. Built in Manchester, the trailers were supplied by regional sales manager, Philip Keenan and at their first meeting the haulier increased its order from two to three units.

Cyril McGuinness, owner at WM Cyril McGuinness said: “I knew right there and then that I wanted to do business with Schmitz Cargobull. However, the competitive pricing of the trailers and the short production lead time offered at Manchester sealed the deal. The level of service throughout the process was fantastic, and if any issues arose, we were kept informed. Ultimately, we received the trailers that we wanted, on time, and with no messing about."

WM Cyril McGuinness specialises in the transport of hazardous waste in Ireland as well as general haulage in the Greater Dublin region. This area has an airport and major port. McGuinness said: “It means we need flexibility with our trailers, as we can be heavy going one way but light on the return journey.”

The trailers feature straight front walls for free side loading and tarpaulin tensioning. The units have DIN EN 12642 Code XL load securing side curtains with anti-theft protection and an aluminium roof. Side loading height is 2,700mm.

Inside the curtainsiders are equipped with 7,100kg heavy-duty flooring, load lighting and LED taillights. Lashing eyes are down both sides of the side raves with roof straps. The trailers are 4.1m tall which means WM Cyril McGuinness will be able to deliver to all its customers without worrying about striking gantries on site. The units are fitted with TrailerConnect telematics which offers 24/7 location monitoring.

McGuinness added: “The environmental impact is also important to me, and these trailers will fit snug against the cabs reducing drag and making sure we’re not pushing air when we don’t need to be.”
