DAF has launched a flagship ‘Ultimate Package’ for its CF and XF models fitted with PACCAR MX-11 or MX-13 engines, comprising a series of efficiency, comfort and lighting features.
The former batch includes a battery energy management system, tyre pressure monitoring and predictive cruise control, which can allegedly plan up to two km ahead and exploit the truck’s kinetic energy for claimed fuel savings of up to 4%.
The pack also comprises LED headlights and rear lights, climate control and an extra 24V/40amp accessory power supply mounted above the windscreen.
DAF told CM that “operators will be paying under £2,000” for the package, the elements of which would cost more than £6,000 if specified individually.
