NewCold has taken on 15 double-deck trailers from rental and contract hire firm Ryder.

The Gray & Adams trailers can carry 44 pallets and feature Carrier-Transicold refrigeration units.

NewCold is a specialist in deep-frozen warehousing and distribution. In 2015, NewCold made its first foray into the UK, opening a 40m-high cold storage plant on a green field site in Wakefield, Yorkshire. The business recently extended its cold store with 87,500 pallet locations to reach a total storage capacity of over 143,000 pallets with frozen food produce.

NewCold advisor Tom Cassells said: "Ryder is experienced and flexible, while reacting quickly to increases in demand and providing good local support.

"I really value the long-term relationship I have with key Ryder staff. It’s also great that we’re operating Gray & Adams double-deck trailers, reducing road miles and emissions."

NewCold UK Director Jon Miles said: "Service is key to NewCold’s market position; we need to and are able to rely on Ryder and its customer service. Ryder’s flexibility helps NewCold to be flexible with its customers."
