Shetland Islands-based Northwards has bought four new Schmitz Cargobull trailers to meet increased demand.
The operator, based in Lerwick, has been buying Schmitz trailers since it was founded in 2002.
Northwards' new trailers will transport chilled fish products to the Scottish mainland, and are fitted with hold-down shackles to secure them on the 14-hour ferry journey across the North Sea.
The company said it expects the new additions to its 120-strong trailer fleet, to last at least 14 years.
Northwards commercial director Neil Leslie said: “We have been very impressed with Schmitz Cargobull trailers since we started buying them more than 10 years ago.
“Because of the excellent product quality, Schmitz Cargobull trailers offer a longer service life than conventionally expected. These new trailers are likely to last us for at least 14 years, which makes them superb value for money and a great investment.”
