Milford Haven-based specialist haulier Penfro Peche has added a new Volvo FH16 and a new tri-axle Chereau refrigerated trailer to its fleet.

The truck, a 6x4 with 750hp, was supplied by Volvo dealer and haulage firm Mansel Davies and Son and replaces the firm’s Mercedes-Benz Actros.

The fleet, which also includes a Volvo FH16 rated at 650hp and a Scania R series with 730hp to call on, operates largely from the company’s base in Lochinver in the Highlands of Scotland.

The company’s livery, designed by local Lochinver artist Jeanette McCarty, was added to the trailer in vinyl.

Penfro Peche specialises in transporting fresh fish, mainly to France and Spain, and returns of fresh fruit from Europe. The fleet also carries vegetables, dairy products, bakery goods and wine around the UK.

MD John Vincent told CM the distinctive livery of the fleet has attracted significant interest.

“They are so widely photographed, not just in this country either. We’ve seen people hanging off bridges to get photos and cars doing u-turns to get a better look,” he said.
