Preston-based Pete Marquis Contractors has added a new DAF LF 18-tonne skiploader to its fleet with a Batman inspired livery.
The new truck has a Harsh skiploader mounted to a DAF LF 18t chassis and a cab covered in comic book illustrations from the ‘The Dark Knight’.
“Whether used in residential or industrial work, the new ‘Batman’ adds another string to our capability in keeping the neighbourhoods of Preston clean and tidy” said owner Pete Marquis.
“Having high visibility trucks like these also gives us instant recognition and lets people see that we’re doing our job - and doing it well. We genuinely love our work - and it’s even better if we can make it a bit of fun too.”
The DAF LF skiploader is the first with Harsh equipment to join the Pete Marquis fleet and has been specified with a Harsh HS14T, built in Hardox and Domex, offering a 14t lift capacity.
For Pete Marquis, this standard unit has also been specified with a wide number of options including the latest Harsh ‘Skip n’Go’ fully adjustable hydraulic sheeting system, rear facing LED lighting to the platform, a fold-away nearside safety access ladder, remote wireless radio control operation, double lifting chains plus a pair of rear mounted ‘flip - outs’ that extend the effective length of the skiploader’s floor.
“These days, it’s all about having the maximum possible versatility and capability,” Marquis said, “because what we’ll be doing tomorrow won’t be the same as what we’re doing today.”
