A new Mercedes-Benz Actros 26-tonner has joined Cannock-based PRM Green Technologies’ fleet.
The 2540 ClassicSpace L-cab, which was supplied by Midlands Truck & Van, is the second Actros on the IT equipment recycling specialist’s predominantly van and 7.5-tonner fleet.
Like the older example, it features a Fred Smith & Sons curtain-sided body. It has an overall height of 4.2m, but a low frame gives it a loading aperture of just under 2.75m. This allows it to carry 60 (800mm high) Euro containers on three decks.
The truck was specified with MirrorCam, which is described as “fantastic” by truck driving fleet manager Alex Melbourne. “I quickly got the hang of MirrorCam,” he said. “I can see pretty much everything as I’m approaching an island now, because there’s no mirror blocking my view.”
The Actros was supplied on a Mercedes-Benz Finance contract hire agreement.
