Lincoln-based Palletways member Rase Distribution has spent £800,000 on four new 44-tonne Scania tractor units, and four 26-tonne Scania curtainside trucks.

The investment, which coincides with the family firm’s 50th anniversary, is in response to growing volumes and will add around 170 tonnes per day to its payload capacity.

The new additions will join the firm’s 60-strong fleet of vehicles at its depot on the former RAF Wickenby Airfield.

Rase Distribution MD Geoff Hill said “This is a monumental year for us. We’ve secured two new logistics contracts so far this year worth £1.6m and the new vehicles will help manage this and the seasonal uplift in business.”
