Read Plant Hire has made a sweeping gesture to celebrate its 35th anniversary, with the purchase of a new Volvo FM 4x2 rigid.
The truck, which is fitted with an 8-tonne capacity Johnston sweeper body, was chosen by Sean Barrett, son of MD Martyn Barrett, who drives for the company.
Barrett said he picked the FM because of “the way it drives, its styling, the performance and ride and overall comfort”.
He added: “The larger capacity Johnston body brushes both sides and the 250 gallon water tank made possible with the Volvo FM means I can stay on site and sweep for longer, which offers real productivity gains.”
The new FM was supplied by Truck and Bus Wales & West in Newport, and heads up Read Plant Hire’s 22-strong fleet at its Newport HQ.
