ASCO Group has added 15 new Renault Trucks Range T 460 6x2s to its fleet to enhance the experience for drivers.

Supplied by Renault Trucks Scotland, the new Range Ts are operating on a five year lease deal, and have replaced older Premium models.

Paul Davidson, transport operations manager for the logistics and materials management provider, said: “We have been working with Renault Trucks for over 20 years and all the logistics as well as our Waste Business and Fuel and Lubes run Renault Trucks. So when we were looking for replacements, they were our natural first choice.”

The Range Ts have leather steering wheels, cruise control and telephone control, heated driver’s seats, one touch electric windows, air conditioning, and a remote control for all functions in the bunk area. These options hope to appeal to new and retain current drivers.

Other touches include cab paint colour-matched fog lamp rims and front bumper corner pieces. Davidson explained that appealing to drivers was important: “The trucks look professional on the road, enhancing the drivers’ satisfaction in the job they do. Their feedback has been very positive with style, comfort and a smooth driving experience.”

All units are equipped with censored braking, lane departure warning system, adaptive cruise control as well as the French manufacturer’s Optidriver gearbox.

Davidson concluded: “The trucks fit seamlessly into our operation and the day-to-day activities we carry out and of particular note are the positive fuel economy figures as well as the styling and overall value. All are Euro-6 which helps reduce our carbon footprint.”
