Samworth Brothers is introducing Thermo King Advancer A400 refrigeration systems to its fleet in a bid to reduce the fuel usage of its refrigerated trailer fleet.
The first order of Advancer A400 units has been delivered by Marshall Fleet Solutions and Samworth Brothers hope to improve efficiency by more than 33% per unit, as a result. Samworth Brothers has made fuel efficiency a key priority when upgrading its fleet and have installed the units onto single temperature trailers from Gray & Adams.
“We appreciated the chance to trial the Thermo King Advancer A400 ourselves, and were extremely impressed with its performance,” said Samworth Brothers supply chain general manager Alistair Leckie.
“As we work towards our Net Zero commitments, the level of efficiency achieved by the A400 will make a very meaningful difference for us. Likewise, in a period of prolonged increases in fuel prices and overall running costs, a 33% fuel saving is truly transformative.”
Samworth Brothers fleet comprises of around 270 trailers and provides temperature-controlled distribution services to internal and external food manufacturers, retailers and other distributors.
Marshall Fleet Solutions national sales manager Maria D’Andrea added: “We are delighted to be able to provide one of the UK’s leading food producers with the latest ultra-efficient refrigeration systems, and we are also proud of our ability to maintain all of these new units with 24/7/365 support from our nationwide service network.”
