Schmitz Cargobull has appointed Alan Hunt as MD for its UK and Ireland operations.
Hunt joins Schmitz Cargobull after 16 years with Finning CAT where he held a variety of roles, including defence and government manager, business unit manager and more recently head of sales for commercial marine and oil and gas.
Hunt will focus on maintaining and increasing Schmitz Cargobull’s presence in the UK and Ireland, and brings years of engineering expertise.
Hunt will be based at the firm’s headquarters in Warrington.
The portfolio of trailers has expanded to include the multi-temp version of Schmitz Cargobull’s own refrigeration unit, equipped with the TrailerConnect telematics package, and the XL version of its fixed-roof curtainsider designed for the UK and Ireland.
He replaces Paul Avery, who joined Montracon late last year after 24 years at Schmitz Cargobull (UK).
