Vale of Evesham-based Scotts Plant & Haulage has added two new Volvo FMX tippers to its 15-strong fleet of rigids.

Supplied by Wales and West Truck and Bus Evesham, the two 8x4 Volvos are equipped with day cabs, Volvo D13K engines rated at 420hp and I-Shift automated manual transmission systems.

The deal also includes a six year Volvo Gold Service Contract.

The FMXs feature Boweld steel muckaway tipper bodies, powered by Edbro hydraulics. Scotts Plant & Haulage also specified PM onboard weighing systems, air operated tipper tailgates and electric sheeting systems.

Scotts Plant & Haulage director Scott Witheford said: “Our tippers do a bit of everything from muckaway to aggregate works. Road planings, recycled materials and topsoil are also carried regularly.

“The close proximity of our Volvo dealerpoint and our predominately local operations maximises our productivity levels. Volvo builds a good, reliable all round truck.

"Our FM and FMX models are popular with the drivers, who also rate the I-Shift automated manual transmission systems highly,” he added.
