Kent-based specialist transport provider Southern Van Lines (SVL) has put a high-cube, low-ride-height box trailer into service to carry music and theatrical equipment to events in the UK and mainland Europe.

The Krone Mega Dry Liner, delivered in December, offers a load capacity of 99 cu m and is constructed from galvanized steel cassette panels for maximum security.

The trailer, which has a coupling height of 950mm and offers internal clearance of nearly 3 metres, features recessed keyhole profiles allowing cross-beams to be placed in any position for mixed cargo. It also has a 3mm thick phenolic floor and low-level phenolic/plywood internal wall panels to resist damage from forklift trucks.

For extra security, its container-type rear doors have integrated lock rods, with the handle positioned out of sight underneath the body.

“This Mega Dry Liner is perfectly matched to our operation,” said SVL director, Charles Colley. “We carry a lot of high-value and outsized equipment, so the combination of security and loading flexibility makes the Mega Dry Liner a sure bet.”

The new trailer joins two other Krone units in SVL’s fleet, which totals 22 trucks and 40 trailers.
