Tiger Trailers has confirmed that it will be exhibiting at the CV Show again this year.

“We’ve been going to the NEC since 2014,” said joint MD Steven Cartwright (pictured right).

“In that first year we didn’t even have a factory, and with no trailers to show we just took a small booth.”

Cartwright remembers how a small handful of people “took the p**s” out of the stand and questioned whether the fledgling company would be a success.

“We came back to the NEC the following year with a customer’s double-deck trailer, and nobody laughed then,” he said with a grin.

Like brother John, Cartwright is a big fan of the CV Show, which he describes as being like the Motor Transport Awards.

“There are other events, but this is the one the whole industry goes to,” he said.

“Although we don’t tend to take orders on the stand like some of the truck manufacturers, it’s a fantastic opportunity to meet lots of people. There’s no need to make an appointment, and you just turn up on the stand.”

Tiger Trailers, which has built 4,000 trailers and rigid bodies since production started in late 2014, is in the process of building a new £22m factory in Winsford, Cheshire.
