MAN’s zero emission eTGM will commence trials with nine Austrian customers this autumn.
The 26-tonne trucks have batteries mounted under the cab and on the chassis, giving them a maximum range of 180km.
Power comes from a 264kW electric motor, generating 3,100Nm of torque.
They will be fitted with a variety of different bodies, including a refrigerated box, a swap body (pictured), a refuse collector and a 4x2 tractor unit, and will be evaluated in real world conditions.
MAN said it will be using the trials to help develop its future range of series-produced electric trucks.
