VKVP Haulage recently bolstered its mixed 80-strong truck fleet with the addition of five brand new Renault Trucks T480 6x2 pushers, all equipped with the latest Turbo Compound engines.
The Felixstowe-based company, which was founded in 2015, already had a strong partnership with Renault Trucks, having previously acquired 33 65-plate 11-litre Range T460 6x2 used trucks in 2020. Now, the new T480s mark the beginning of an extensive fleet upgrade, with an initial order of 22 new vehicles.
VKVP's sleeper-cabbed T480s are powered by Renault Trucks' latest DE13 TC engine, which incorporates Turbo Compound technology.
Vladislav Pantelej, managing director of VKVP Haulage, said: "When I heard that a new turbo compound engine had been released, it was an obvious choice for me to switch to the new, more fuel-efficient models."
The T480s are equipped with the new-generation Optidriver gearbox AT2812, featuring a new calculator, control software, and clutch actuator. This enhancement ensures smoother and faster gear changes. In addition to the Turbo Compound technology, the vehicles are equipped with Eco Cruise Control with Optiroll and Smart Torque Control solution, further helping to maximise fuel economy.
Commenting on supplying dealer Renault Truck Commercials in Felixstowe, Pantelej added: "The service we receive from Renault Truck Commercials with our existing vehicles has been faultless. Minimising downtime is always key, and the team in Felixstowe are super easy to deal with, really helpful, and always on hand to get the vehicles back on the road as quickly as possible. As a busy haulier, this level of service is vital and key to the smooth running of our operation."
The new Renault Trucks will be deployed across the UK for container work, serving Felixstowe, London Gateway, and Southampton docks.
VKVP Haulage prides itself on making 97% of deliveries on time.
