Nottingham-based waste disposal company Wastecycle has taken delivery of seven new Daf skip-loaders.

Provided by Imperial Commercials Derby, the company bought five 18-tonne and two 14-tonne LFs.

The 14-tonne vehicles are fitted with Atlas Cayvol skip-loader bodies, while the 18-tonners are equipped with power-reach skip-loaders from Boughton.

All of the vehicles are fitted with safety features including reverse and nearside cameras, audible reverse warnings, grille-mounted LED beacons and Side Scan technology.

The new additions to Wastecycle’s 60-strong fleet are already at work, collecting a mixture of construction, inert and industrial waste.

Wastecycle’s transport operations director Andy Sharp said the company regards the LF as “the perfect skip truck”.

He said: “The DAF LF is the perfect skip truck. Short-wheel-base, auto gear-box, a simple uncluttered chassis for the bodybuilder – it’s just an exacting specification that suits our purpose precisely.”

The new vehicles follow a series of Dafs that joined the business in September last year.
