Beavertail truck bodies are a design that allows wheeled and tracked plant easy access to a rigid platform body or trailer. The platform body slopes towards the floor behind the rear axle with ramps that allow plant to be driven or winched onto the truck. One variation of these plant carriers is called a cheese wedge that use the ramps to fold down flat above the slope creating a flat platform along the entire length of the body or trailer. On rigid vehicles, beavertailed bodies can be fitted to chassis cabs of all sizes from most major manufacturers.
